Adam Comes Through

Belated Happy Father’s Day. Especially to my dad, Lester, back home in Myerstown, PA. Doesn’t miss a Phillies game on TV.  At age 99, he’s really amazing. Still spends time in the woodshop.  His skills as a carpenter were never passed on. Apparently it’s not in the genes.

Atta-Boy Adam
22 runs, 32 hits, 12 walks….the Cardinals’ numbers in winning the first two games of the weekend set. Enter Adam Morgan, making his major league debut for the Phillies, their third pitcher to make their first big league start against St. Louis this year. Gonzalez and Aumont, the other two, didn’t fare well, 13 runs in 6.2 total innings.

Adam held the Cardinals to one run in 5.2 innings before departing to an ovation from the fans, including mom and dad who hugged. Adam was 0-6 at Lehigh Valley, missing all of last year following left shoulder surgery, before being called up to the majors. He became the Phillies first starting pitcher to win a game since May 23. Last time he won a game as two years ago at LV.
