An unpleasant pattern continues. For the fourth straight game, the Phillies offense clawed its way back in the game and the very next inning, the bullpen let the enemy score. The result: two losses to the Mets followed by two losses to the Pirates. A big culprit in each case are walks issued by the Phillies.
Pittsburgh has now won eight of its last nine games at Citizens Bank Park. The Mets are riding the same bus, winning at Citizens Bank Park.
Hamels takes the hill tonight in game three of the four-game series. He’s 2-2 in his career against the Pirates. Last time he started against the Pirates was July 4, 2013. He won.
