Giles Is Fourth
Ken Giles finished fourth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting that was announced on Monday. Not bad for a guy who began the season at Reading, was promoted to Lehigh Valley before making his major league debut. He was certainly lights out in the bullpen. Bodes well for the future as the Phillies enter a rebuilding mode.
Three years ago Vance Worley was third in the ROY voting by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Vance faded and resurfaced this season with the Pirates.

Had a hand in 45 of the Phillies’ 80 wins. “Bedrock” won the Award in the closest balloting ever with 57 points to 55 for Rick Sutcliffe (Cubs) and 54 for Orel Hershiser (Dodgers).
