Spring Training Memories
Jim Kaat (LHP, 1976-79)
“I wore No. 21 with the original Washington Senators training in Orlando, Florida. I was nervous but proud to wear a big league ‘uni’. Coming out of Michigan, I loved the warm weather. There was only one field in those days and I didn’t like the amount of time they made us stand around in the outfield doing nothing.”
