The bulletin board also contains lots of other pieces of information.  Included is the bus schedule for road trips, a reminder players will need passports as the Phillies visit Toronto during the season, the travel roster for Sunday and Dubee’s pitching plans for the next week.  That 8X13 document lists the pitchers scheduled for the game, back-up for the game and those who will throw on the side.  Players are expected to check the board every morning and know their schedule.

**Phillies radio broadcasts this spring will be only road games, except for Saturday’s opener.  Fans can hear the visiting team’s broadcasters from Bright House Field on  So, in essence, all games are on radio if you include the internet.

**Shane is going to be on the cover of Where Magazine, the edition that will be in all Philadelphia and area hotels this summer.

**Tim McCarver, the Ford C. Frick Award winner for broadcasting excellence, will attend the Phillies Alumni weekend in August (St. Louis series).  He’ll throw out the first ball on Toyota Alumni Night, Saturday, the 11th.  Tim will receive his award during the Hall of Fame weekend in Cooperstown in July.

Spring Training Memories
Jimmy Rollins
“1997 at Carpenter Complex with all the minor leaguers.  My number was 63 or 68.  I remember we stayed at the Econ-0-Lodge down the street from complex but I can’t remember my roommate.  Didn’t expect to see that many players in the clubhouse, something like 200 of us.  It was like going to school the first day, you had to find your locker and you had to learn new names and faces.  Yet, everybody knew everything about you, where you came from, what round you were selected.”
