Drabek, Kyle . . . B-T: R-R . . . 6-0, 185 . . . 21 . . . The Woodlands, TX . . . Selected in 1st round, 2006, out of The Woodlands HS; signed by Steve Cohen . . . Third-year pro . . . Scouting Report: “Arm and size to become a power pitcher.  Great arm strength.  Fast ball projects as a plus-plus pitch.  Curve has good spin and tilt.  Shows feel for a change.  Aggressive on the mound.  Hard worker.”

Scouting Report: “At times, fast ball has good velocity with late life.  Change is a plus pitch and can use it in any count. Change has movement like a split.  Needs better command of fastball and improved breaking pitches.”

Scouting Report: “Good athlete, good resiliency, good competitor.  Has ability to have 3 solid major league pitches.  Curve will be above average.  Needs to master command of strike zone better.”

Roth, Robert . . . B-T: R-R . . . 6-0, 205 . . . 20 . . . Lewiston, ID . . . Selected in 19th round, 2006, out of Lewiston HS; signed by Stu Smothers . . . Third-year pro . . . Missed entire 2007 season with right shoulder inflammation . . . Returned to the mount last June 19 at Williamsport, won first 7 decisions and finished 7-2, 3.39 for 10 starts . . . NYP All-Star.

Scouting Report: “Missed last 5 days of the season with tender right shoulder. Young and inexperienced pitcher. Fast ball has life in the strike zone.  Good rotation on curve.  Good athlete.  Loves the game and has a great attitude.”

Scouting Report: “Durable, loves to compete.  Shows 3 major league pitches that will improve with experience. Fast ball projects as a plus pitch. Young now and is learning very quickly.  Has a good chance to develop into a quality major league starter.”
